To ensure actions in support of efforts to improve human rights and gender equality are sustainable, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the population to understand where people live, work, meet, worship and even where they spend their leisure time.
Thailand is a known destination and transit country for men, women, and children who are victims of human
trafficking. Migrant workers are often deported without effective screening for evidence that they may be victims; and without knowing if there are any indications that they could be subjected to forced labor in Thailand

Thailand is a transit country that is located where human trafficking can occur directly or as a path for traffickers to cross to get to other human trafficking countries. Thailand is also known for its fish industry, enticing the poor from abroad to migrate with hopes for higher pay and a better quality of living. These migrants are more inclined to become victims of human trafficking. Migrant workers who are also trafficking victims are deported without effective screening for indications of trafficking.
Thailand is known as a destination country, which means migrant workers and victims of human trafficking end up there. Women aren’t offered equal job opportunities and have a hard time securing benefits such as social security benefits. The constant need to survive, lead people to become targeted for human trafficking, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. Thailand also has limited government officials who monitors entry ways into the country, which also contributes to Thailand’s susceptibility to human trafficking.
Recommendations for Thailand to provide relief from Human Trafficking in Thailand would be to have a stronger communication system in the government and their officials in order to set better pay for employees and fair access to benefits that are needed. Another recommendation would be to create better border patrols for different access points in order to limit the amount of sex trafficking taking place in Thailand. Thailand could also benefit from spreading the wealth across the country in areas that have been affected by poverty and for low socio-economic people. Thailand also could benefit from setting working papers as well as providing photo documentation for its employees to decrease human trafficking. Thailand also can benefit from creating a fishing industry government agency who requires proof of citizenship to complete the job and set time restriction for travel allowed on boats to decrease humans being smuggled and trafficked.
